David Pontich brings extensive international experience in educational leadership across Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Jordan, and Qatar. Throughout his career, he has contributed directly to the growth, development, and academic progression of every school he has served.
With a strong focus on future-ready learning, academic excellence, and innovation, David leads the educational vision at Al Ijadah with clarity and purpose. His global perspective and commitment to high standards ensure that students receive a rigorous, forward-thinking education that prepares them for an evolving world.
Basma Al-Dereny
Executive Principal
Basma Al-Dereny is an accomplished educational leader with more than two decades of progressive experience in the field of education. Beginning her career in 2005, she has advanced through key leadership roles including English Coordinator, Head of Department, and Executive Principal.
In her most recent role, she led a large school community of over 1,400 students and 180 staff members, overseeing both academic excellence and operational performance. Known for her hands-on leadership style and commitment to student well-being, Ms. Al-Dereny believes that successful schools balance strong academics with genuine care.
